Plainville police urging residents to lock their cars after string of break-ins

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Plainville Police Department is urging residents to lock their cars after six break-ins were reported in one night.

According to the department, early Saturday morning, six unlocked cars were burglarized and two mountain bikes were stolen from a driveway in the neighborhoods of Lincoln Avenue, Pleasant Street and Grove Street.

The department shared video of two suspects they said were attempting to break into vehicles, and stole the two mountain bikes.

Police also urged residents to take the following precautions to avoid being burglarized:

  • Lock vehicles even when they’re parked in a driveway
  • Remove all valuables from vehicles or hide them in the trunk
  • Remove keys from cars when they’re not being used
