Plane crash in western Massachusetts leaves three dead

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts State Police said that a place crash in the Leyden Wildlife Area of Greenfield killed three people.

Police said the crash occurred around noon local fire and police departments, Massachusetts State Police, and Massachusetts Environmental Police were dispatched to the crash site on the side of a wooded mountain.

The three victims were adults and were the only passengers on the plane.

Police said the investigation as well as next-of-kin notifications are ongoing.
