A hospitality group in Rhode Island has announced its plans to build a premium extended-stay hotel on the site of the former municipal welfare office in Providence.
TPG Hospitality released Tuesday its plans for the hotel at 111 Fountain Street, directly across from the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
“This project represents a $40 Million private investment in Providence”, states Paul Sacco, Chief Development Officer for TPG Hospitality.
The hotel would also include street-level restaurant and retail space.
Robert Leven, TPG’s Chief Investment Officer, says, “When viewed from an economic development and hospitality product inventory perspective, this exciting new hotel is the right project, in the right location at the right time for Providence”.
The company has not yet released the hotel name and flag.
