Players assaulted after basketball game in Tiverton
TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Tiverton Police Department said one person was arrested after an “altercation” after a basketball game at Longplex Family and Sports Center on Saturday.
Police said the individual was arrested for one count of disorderly conduct and one count of simple assault.
Officers responded to the complex around 8 p.m. after multiple players were assaulted after a basketball game.
The initial call reported that a firearm was involved, but police found no evidence of one on scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
