Police: ½ pound of cocaine confiscated from New Bedford man

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Police said they confiscated over half a pound of cocaine from a New Bedford man.

The New Bedford Police Department said 50-year-old Andres Galvan Santana was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking on Monday.

Authorities said Santana was observed in a suspected drug transaction outside of a residence on Barrett Street around 11 p.m.

Officers found two plastic bags in Santana’s possession containing 261 grams of cocaine.

A search of the home revealed an additional 16 grams, per officials.

Police said Santana was charged with trafficking in excess of 200 grams of cocaine.
