It was a busy weekend for Richmond Police at the Annual Washington County Fair over the weekend.

They arrested 22 people, which is actually a typical amount over the course of the 5-day fair.

Charges include disorderly conduct, and underage drinking. 13 people were arrested for public drinking – Brandon McCrave was one of them.

He is the 20-year-old man accused of driving drunk in Block Island on Monday, flipping his Jeep and killing his teenaged nephew Michael Skirvin.

Police say just two days before that crash, he was walking around the Washington County Fair, drinking.

He and 12 others were arrested on that charge, because there is a no drinking rule at the Fairgrounds.

There were also three underage drinking charges, one of those for a 17-year-old.

Then, a 48-year-old parking attendant was arrested after police say they could smell alcohol on his breath when he yelled and swore at a driver, who he says didn’t park where he was asked to.

None of the 22 people arrested this year were actually from Richmond.
