Police: 317 pounds of marijuana found in vehicle

A Pennsylvania man was arrested by Rhode Island State Troopers after seizing 317 pounds of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop on Monday.
State troopers stopped the operator of the vehicle, Jian Zhi Li, 44, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after laned roadway violations on Route 95 North in Warwick.
During the stop, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle.
After a subsequent search of the vehicle, troopers found and seized 327 vacuum sealed plastic bundles of marijuana that were packaged in twelve large cardboard boxes in the rear of the minivan totaling 317 pounds.
Li was arrested and transported to Wickford Barracks overnight.
Li was arraigned on Tuesday for the possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, manufacturing/possessing/delivery of marijuana over 5 kilograms.
Li has a bail hearing scheduled for May 3rd.
