Police arrest man connected to Valentine’s Day double shooting

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a man, who is connected to the Valentine’s Day double shooting in Newport, in Warwick on Tuesday.
Newport police said that 46-year-old Duane Logan was arrested without incident at a Warwick hotel.
He was wanted for conspiracy to commit murder and is going to be arraigned in Newport District Court on Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators responded to reports of a possible shooting at the Friendly Sons of Newport at around 1 a.m. on February 14.
Two victims were immediately transported to R.I. Hospital, according to Newport Police.
Yordi Arevalo, 25-years-old, from Newport, was identified as the victim who sustained life threatening injuries and died from the shooting.
A second victim, 30-year-old Aroldo M. Noel Paniaqua, of Newport, was released with non-life threatening injuries.
