Police cruiser involved in North Providence crash

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A police cruiser was involved in a North Providence crash overnight.

The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the corner of Douglas and Mineral Spring avenues.

ABC 6 News crews at the scene witnessed a North Providence police cruiser with side damage and airbags deployed. Crews also saw another car that crashed up against an electrical box.

North Providence police said the officer and a female driver were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries. Both have been released.
