BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WLNE) — Burrillville police arrested a DUI suspect Monday after responding to calls of an erratic operator in the area of Chapel Street.

Jacqueline Nunez, 61, of Boston, is facing several charges including DUI of liquor, reckless driving/eluding officer with a motor vehicle in a high speed pursuit and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Officers attempted to pull Nunez over on Hill Road when she is alleged to have fled the stop continuing on the street in her Lexus, according to Burrillville police.

Police pursued the vehicle through several turns before it came to stop at Wallum Lake Road.

Officers drew their firearms to perform the high risk stop and the driver allegedly failed to comply with verbal instructions.

Upon approaching the driver, Nunez’s breath allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol and she displayed bloodshot, watery eyes.

Nunez repeatedly told officers she was the owner of the Conjuring House and was briefly placed in a cruiser pending a field sobriety test.

During the portion of the test where Nunez was asked to follow the officer’s fingertip with her eyes, she reportedly laughed and stated ‘You’re boring me.”

She also allegedly accused officers of giving her the test to “save face.”

Nunez reportedly struggled to perform further tests implemented by officers, and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

According to officers, Nunez’s registration was found to be expired as of May of 2024.

Nunez reportedly refused a chemical test of breath while in custody and attempted to shred her Influence Report Form.

Nunez was held overnight and was arraigned Tuesday at 6th District Court and will next appear in court on November 7.
