Police ID MA man killed in Warwick motorcycle crash

Police are investigating after a deadly motorcycle accident in Warwick left a man from Webster dead and another person injured.

Police say the accident happened around 1:20 a.m. Friday morning on Ives Road right near the entrance to Goddard State Park.

An initial investigation reveals that the men lost control on a curve, crossed the double yellow line, and struck a tree and a stone wall.

The operator, 26-year-old Kevin Lorenz, was taken to Kent Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His 21-year-old male passenger, Aaron Stewart, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Stewart was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but police are not sure if Lorenz was.

Police say it appears speed and possibly alcohol were factors but they continue to investigate.
