Police have identified the woman arrested in connection to a fire at the Summer Villa assisted living facility in Coventry last week.
54-year-old Sophie Souza, a resident of the facility on Laurel Avenue, was taken into custody after the fire was deemed suspicious.
58 residents had to be evacuated and temporarily transferred to another center.
The flames were contained to two separate rooms and the damage was minimal. No one was injured.
Souza remains hospitalized for reasons other than injury from the fire, according to police. She faces criminal charges pending her release: two counts of first degree arson, and two counts of felony assault.
The matter is still under investigation.
