Police identify the driver in Monday’s motorcycle crash in Warwick
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE)- Officers from the Warwick Police Department responded to reports of a crash between a motorcycle and a sedan at 777 Airport Road on Monday night.
When police arrived at the scene, they found 25-year-old Devin Danis lying in the westbound lane. They were later able to confirm that he was the driver of the motorcycle.
Danis was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He suffered injuries to a few different parts of his body and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.
Police say that Danis is now in stable condition, but remains at the hospital.
The driver of the sedan was a 21-year-old woman. She didn’t appear to have suffered any injuries according to the Warwick Police Department.
The sedan driver stayed at the scene to try and help Danis. Several other witnesses did the same.
Police initially believed that Danis switched into the opposite lane and drove into the sedan as the driver was pulling out of a parking lot. However, after reviewing surveillance footage they no longer believe that to be the case.
