Police investigate after 24-year-old shot in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A man is recovering after being shot in Providence Thursday night.

According to Commander Thomas Verdi, officers responded to a Swan Street home around 10:15 p.m. for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found spent shell casings.

A resident told police the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by a friend.

Cmmdr. Verdi said the victim is a 24-year-old man who was treated for a gunshot wound and is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
