PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An 18-year-old woman faced manslaughter charges Monday after a brutal daylight stabbing over the weekend.

Police say a feud between neighbors lead to the death of 15-year-old Jaheim Carter.

The suspect, 18-year-old Natashza Charon, is no stranger to law enforcement. In fact, the judge in Monday’s hearing recognized her from a previous hearing just last month.

Police say Charon was walking down Amherst Street Saturday afternoon with her boyfriend when they were confronted by a group of four males jumped out of a car.

Police say Carter was stabbed in the back by Charon during the fight.

At this point, police do not believe Charon intended to kill Carter, which is why she is being charged with manslaughter.

Family members of the victim were unhappy with that decision. They believe the suspect should be charged with murder.

Charon was given $50,000 bail on this charge and held without bail because she is a bail violator on a previous charge.
