Police investigate shooting at East Providence playground
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A shooting occurred at the Hull Street playground in East Providence on Tuesday.
According to the East Providence Police Department, officers responded to a shots fired call around 1 p.m. and are actively investigating the incident.
Upon their arrival, police found a bullet casing in the parking lot.
Later, police were advised that a male suffering a gunshot wound to the leg was with Providence police on Benefit Street.
The wounded male was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.
Officers believe this individual is involved with the East Providence shooting incident.
