Police investigate ‘suspicious’ car fires in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Officials said they are investigating a fire this morning that spread from two cars to a home in Cranston.

According to Chief Michael Winquist, Cranston firefighters and police said they responded to a reported structure fire just before 4 a.m.

Upon arrival, officials found two cars on each side of the residence on fire.

Firefighters were able to safely evacuate all residents of the home.

Preliminary investigation by the Cranston Fire Department determined the fires were suspicious.
