UPDATE: Police investigating a pair of crashes that left two dead in Attleboro area

Attleboro, Mass (WLNE) – Massachusetts State Police are investigating two different fatal crashes that happened on I-95 in Attleboro and North Attleboro that happened just moments apart.

According to state police, a male pedestrian was struck and killed on I-95 south around 9:45 p.m. Monday night, and was deemed dead on arrival.

Police say at this time it’s not clear why that person was on the roadway, but they have been identified as a 50-year-old man. 

State police are still looking for the vehicle who they say left the scene.

Traffic is being diverted as crews clear and investigate the scene. 

State police say approximately 15 minutes later , a motor vehicle traveling northbound on I-95 went off the roadway near Exit 5 in North Attleboro and rolled over into the woods.

The 19-year-old driver in that vehicle died. 

Both crashes are still under investigation and it’s unclear at this moment if both crashes are related.
