Police investigating after a man was shot in his car

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police were called to the corner of Branch Avenue and Veazie Street just after midnight Saturday morning for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Henry Pena, sitting in the driver seat of a gray Toyota Prius, who said he had just been shot in the back.
Pena said he was shot on the corner of Douglas Avenue and Messina Street. Pena said he did not know who shot him, but said he heard six shots and a woman scream. He also mentioned he saw a silver Hondo Accord leave the scene on Douglas Avenue.
Officers found one bullet hole in the rear trunk of Pena’s car, and found nine shell casings near Douglas Avenue and Messina Street.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
Providence Police are investigating this incident.
