Police investigating after human possible remains found in Westerly

WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — Westerly police are investigating after officers found possible human remains on Everett Avenue Wednesday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., police responded to the area for reports of possible human remains.

At the scene, Westerly police said what appeared to be a human leg bone was discovered.

The remains were turned over to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for analysis.

Westerly police said no foul play is suspected, and the case is under investigation.
