Police investigating after shots fired into Providence home

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Providence police responded to multiple reports of shots fired near the intersection of Pine and Portland Street around 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.

Upon arrival, police were notified that a home on West Clifford Street was shot into, leaving a bullet hole in the front window of the home.

Latasha Nathaniel stated to police that she was sitting on the sofa in the living room with her two-year-old granddaughter when she heard gunshots from outside of her home.

While hearing the gunshots, Nathaniel saw a bullet go through the window she was sitting next to.  She said she immediately jumped onto the floor with her granddaughter while the bullet went into the kitchen wall and another hit the bedroom wall.

20-year-old Felicia Dickerson was lying on her bed when the bullet struck the wall outside of her bedroom.

Pvd Shots

Police located shell casings in two different locations along Portland Street.  They were able to locate two .40 Smith and Wesson shell casings in front of a home on Portland Street and another pair of shell casings on Portland Street near Friendship Street.

Providence police spoke with a few residents on Portland Street who say that they saw two vehicles chasing each other down the street at the same time the shots were heard.  The cars were described as a four door silver pickup truck and a gold Toyota Camry.

There were no injuries reported during this incident, according to police.
