ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Attleboro police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Mobil gas station in South Attleboro.

According to Attleboro police, at 12:20 a.m. Thursday the suspect entered the 1249 Newport Avenue Mobile station brandishing a black firearm.

The masked male suspect entered the store and demanded the contents of the cash register from the clerk.

The clerk complied with the demand and handed the suspect and unknown amount of cash.

After exiting the store, the suspect got into the passenger side of newer model dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota.

The vehicle was last seen fleeing west-bound on Collins Street toward Washington Street (Route 1).

The suspect is described as a male, short in stature and was wearing a puffy black North Face jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt and a white mask and dark gloves.
