Police investigating stabbing inside New Bedford sports bar

Police are investigating after a person was stabbed during a fight inside a New Bedford bar early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to Dublin’s Sports bar on Acushnet Avenue at around 2:00 a.m.

Police say they found a 20-year-old male who had been stabbed four times in the torso area when they entered the bar.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the fight broke out around closing time between several parties involving barstools and at leas one knife. the incident remains under investigation.
