Police investigating suspicious fires alongside of Route 195

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE)- Dartmouth Police are currently investigating a set of ‘suspicious’ fires that were lit alongside Route 195 on Tuesday.

Massachusetts State Police said that the fires were about 100-300 yards off the road and the New Bedford, Dartmouth and Westport fire departments had to work together to extinguish the fires.

Troopers and our Air Wing have been assisting Fire Departments in New Bedford, Dartmouth, and Westport as they battle several suspicious brush fires along Route 195 east and west. The right lane at Exit 13 (Rt 140) is closed. Fires are 100-300 yards off road.
