Police investigating vandalism at Chariho High School

The Richmond Police Department is investigating vandalism at the Chariho High School.
According to the Police Chief, Elwood Johnson, the vandalism was discovered around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The senior parking lot and the exterior walls of the dugout on the softball field were spray painted.
Johnson said police are not releasing pictures or saying what was painted as part of the investigation. However, the chief said it was not a hate crime.
There are surveillance cameras in that area, that did capture images.
The police department is working with the school to find out who was responsible
“We would encourage whoever did this to be forth right and volunteer information,” Johnson said, “We understand people make bad decisions but when they are accountable for their actions in advance of police and school finding them it goes a long way.”
There was no structural damage and the spray paint has been covered by school officials, according to Johnson.
