Police make arrest after shots fired in Cranston

Cranston Police have arrested a man after investigating reports of gunfire in the area of
30-year-old Luke Cabral was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Firearm after being previously convicted of a Crime of Violence—a felony.
Officers responded to the scene that Friday morning and observed five bullet holes into a garage next door to a residential building at
Police seized the shell casings and forensic analysis suggested the shots were fired from a specific apartment located at 156 Woodbine. A search warrant of the apartment was authorized and Cabral and another individual were located for questioning; Cabral was subsequently arrested.
Cabral was arraigned on Monday, March 23rd, in 3rd District Court. He was held without bail pending a violation hearing. Police say he has a criminal history for felony assault and was on a suspended sentence at the time of his arrest.
Cranston Police credits witnesses who reported the shots fired and helped take a very dangerous person out of the community.
