Police: Man stood on tracks intentionally before being hit, killed by train in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man struck by a train near Westminster Street Thursday stood on the tracks intentionally before the crash, according to police.
MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan offered his condolences to the victim’s family on behalf of the MBTA.
The man was hit around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
