Police: New Bedford shooting suspect found at Maine home

NEW BEDFORD, MASS. (WLNE)- Police say that a man wanted for a New Bedford shooting was found in a Maine home on Monday.

In early January, 29-year-old Tylor Santos, 29 allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in the city.

Following the non-fatal shooting, police conducted an investigation which determined that Santos travelled to Maine after the incident.

Massachusetts State Police shared a photo of the home where they said investigators concluded Santos was hiding.

The home was located on on East Shore Road in the town of Embden, Maine.

This was a joint effort between Massachusetts State Police Trooper, New Bedford Police, along with federal and Maine law enforcement authorities.

As officers approached, Santos fled from the rear of the home onto frozen Embden Pond.

Santos eventually surrendered and as arrested on several warrants, charging him with multiple offenses related to the shooting.

These include assault with a dangerous weapon, attempted assault and battery with a firearm, domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation or suffocation, threats to commit a crime, various firearms offenses, possession of a Class A narcotic with intent to distribute; and motor vehicle offenses.
