UPDATE: Police detonate suspicious package at Licht Judicial Complex

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Licht Judicial Complex in Providence has been deemed safe to reenter after a large police presence had gathered outside of the building.

There was an evacuation of all people inside the building due to a security concern, which turned out to be a suspicious piece of luggage that was left outside the courthouse.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal bomb squad performed diagnostics to open the luggage remotely and determined there was no threat.

The luggage was detonated by the bomb squad out of an abundance of caution.
