BOURNE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bourne Police Department said a short police pursuit on May 10 ended with a car crashing into a tree.

65-year-old Robert Diaz was charged with failure to stop for police, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal ID, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

Police alleged they attempted to stop Diaz due to his vehicle having a “cancelled license plate” that belonged to another vehicle.

Diaz then allegedly fled from police before striking a tree on Head of the Bay Road.

He was uninjured and placed into custody.
