Police release name on woman who drowned in Taunton
TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police released the name the woman who drowned in Taunton on Aug. 10.
The body of 23-year-old Elfreda Nenen Yovonie was recovered from Buck Pond around 7 p.m. by dive teams from the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and North Bristol County.
Friends of the victim had called 911 around 4:30 p.m.
State police said the drowning is not currently believed to be suspicious and the incident is still under investigation.
