Police return missing bird to Roger Williams Zoo, another still on the loose

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A missing bird has been returned to Roger Williams Park Zoo, but officials say another is still on the loose.
A spokesperson for Roger Williams Zoo said ‘Monster’ the blue-throated piping guan was returned by police and animal control after a sighting off Elmwood Avenue.
Keepers said Monster “looked good” but added that vets would examine the bird to ensure its health.
Zoo officials said they believe Monster’s son ‘Chip’ is nearby, noting they would have more details in the morning.
The two exotic birds escaped last Thursday as a crowd left the rainforest exhibit following heavy storms.
