Police: Rhode Island woman hits man in the head with bottle in Key Largo

KEY LARGO, FL (WLNE) — A Charlestown, Rhode Island woman is accused of hitting a 66-year-old man in the head with a beer bottle at a Florida bar.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Heather Marie Cruz, 47, was charged with battery on a person over 65 and domestic battery.

The incident occurred at the Caribbean Club in Key Largo, Florida at approximately 10 p.m. Monday.

The victim was bleeding from the head and holding down Cruz when police arrived.

An investigation showed that Cruz was the aggressor and she was arrested by authorities.
