Police search for suspect after broad daylight shooting at gas station in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An investigation is underway for the suspect who shot a 23-year-old man at a gas station in Providence over the weekend.
The victim has been identified 23-year-old Marcus McClain at Quality Fuels on Smithfield Avenue Saturday.
Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin said Monday in a press conference that a group of people in their 20s were on unregistered mopeds at the time of the incident. Lapatin says that the mopeds were street legal.
A person in a BMW drove by and shot at McClain, who allegedly fired back.
McClain was seriously injured but is expected to be OK, according to Lapatin.
The suspect’s car was found in Plainville, Massachusetts, with bullet holes from being shot at, the major said.
No suspect has been named.
