Police searching woman’s home after her remains were found in the woods

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Wednesday marks the second day of an active police scene at the home of Michele Romano.

On March 31, Rhode Island State Police identified human remains found in a wooded area in Foster as Romano, who disappeared in August 2024.

Investigators were spotted going through her home Tuesday night into Wednesday.

RISP received a warrant to search the home on Hazard Avenue in Warwick Tuesday afternoon.

The Warwick Police Department is also helping with the case.

Warwick police have confirmed that no one has been charged in connection to her death yet.
