Police searching for suspect after Woonsocket stabbing

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said it is searching for a suspect after a stabbing late on June 7.

The stabbing occurred around 11 p.m. at the the convenience store at the corner of Cass Avenue and Wood Avenue.

The department said police found the victim sitting on the front steps of the store with a stab wound to his abdomen.

He was transported to a local hospital for surgery.

Police said they are still attempting to identify a suspect and no arrests have been made.
