Police seek to identify suspect in attempted bank robbery

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police are seeking the help of the public to identify the suspect in an attempted bank robbery.
According to Police the suspect entered the Citizens Bank located at 63 Westminster street at 4:52 p.m. on February 28th. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding “money be put on the counter quickly and no one will get hurt”.
When the teller walked away from the counter, the suspect fled the scene. His image was captured by security cameras and shared by Providence Police.
Police described the suspect as a white male between 5’5” and 5’7” tall with short hair, a slim build, and wearing a black jacket over a grey hooded sweatshirt.
