Pool cue assault leads to marijuana cultivation bust

Warwick Police have arrested a man after an assault with a pool cue lead to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation.
David Florio, 34, is being charged with felony assault and marijuana cultivation charges.
Police began an investigation early last week after there was a report of a fight at the Sports Legends Pub in Warwick.
Police believe Florio used a pool cue to assault another patron causing severe head and facial injuries.
After a week long investigation that included video surveillance review and numerous witness interviews, Florio was arrested Saturday night.
On Sunday, a search warrant was obtained for Florio's home to look for the pool cue.
During the search, a marijuana grow operation was located at his home. Detectives seized 48 marijuana plants ranging in size from juvenile to mature.
