FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) – The customer wasn’t “always right” at Popeyes in Fall River on Monday.

Popeyes employee Colby McCarthy, 19, was arrested yesterday evening after allegedly hitting a customer in the face with a metal tray.

Police say the incident occurred at 6:40 p.m. on Pleasant Street, after McCarthy got into a heated exchange with a customer over the length of time it took to receive a food order.

According to officials, McCarthy launched a metal tray at the customer, striking him above his left eye.

Authorities say the customer, a 22-year-old Fall River resident, was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.

Police say McCarthy was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
