Popular Providence yoga studio still doing business virtually through pandemic

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Coronavirus sure has put a damper on the economy and local businesses, but Providence Power Yoga has made some changes to stay open during this unpredictable time.

Prior to the pandemic, PPY operated out of two studios, one at 51 Bassett St., Providence and the other at 1235 Wampanoag Trl., Riverside.

The owner, JoEllen Hockenbrough said she was set to open the newest studio at 365 Eddy St., Providence on April 1, but is now delayed until whenever…

Whether you are already a member, or not, join in on a PPY online class on a donation basis. Donations of any amount are asked to help offset any unexpected costs for technology, live-streaming and to compensate the many instructors.

To join a class, check the daily schedule on PPY’s website. Once you are registered, you will receive a link to the Zoom class. You will even receive updates via email and text of when your class begins.

During this uncertain time, one’s stress levels may be high and one’s mental health state may need to decompressed.  JoEllen not only talked about the importance yoga has over the body, but also the mind.
