Portraits of late Providence Mayor Buddy Cianci on sale

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – Portraits of the late Providence Mayor Buddy Cianci that were taken down from the Graduate hotel following criticism, are now available for purchase.

The Graduate Hotel, formerly known as The Biltmore, gave the portraits that were hung throughout the hotel to the Cianci Foundation.

Back in June a woman sent a letter to hotel management, asking for the artwork of the former mayor to be taken down.

She claimed it reminded people of Providence’s corruption during Cianci’s time as mayor.

After the woman’s letter grabbed many people’s attention on social media, the hotel decided to respond by taking the portraits down.

The foundation is now selling them on their website to raise money for their educational foundation.
