PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) — A Fall River woman was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence with a child in the vehicle on May 11, according to Portsmouth police.

27-year-old Christina Santos was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs with a child under the age of 13 as a passenger.

Around 6:13 p.m., an officer was on scene at Patriot Petroleum for a motor vehicle crash when police received reports of an erratic operator who was pulling into the same lot after striking a curb.

The officer on scene saw the vehicle attempt to leave the lot, and stopped it.

The officer identified the driver as Santos, and observed there was a 5-year-old passenger inside the vehicle, according to Portsmouth police.

Police allege Santos “exhibited signs of intoxication,” who was then arrested.
