Portsmouth Police investigating a crash that sent one man to the hospital

PORTSMOUTH, R.I (WLNE) – Portsmouth Police are currently investigating a crash that sent a 33-year-old man to the hospital with serious injuries. 

According to police, the crash happened in the area of East Main and Sylvania road around 10:52 p.m on Friday night. 

Police say the driver of the motorcycle was traveling northbound when he struck the rear of a pick-up truck that was stopped in the roadway, waiting to make a turn. 

The people in the pick-up truck were not injured in the incident.

The department says East Main road was temporarily closed to traffic while the crash was investigated.
