Providence Public Schools honors Webster Elementary School teacher as district’s teacher of the year

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Third-grade ESL teacher Lindsay Paiva was named Providence Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year Thursday.
Paiva, who teaches at Webster Elementary, was surprised by the school community’s students and staff.
“Ms. Paiva puts in an incredible amount of time and effort every day, and she is committed to getting to know each of her students completely,” said Superintendent Dr. Javier Montañez. “She is making a huge difference in their lives and opening up new paths to success for our multilingual learners. Congratulations on this well-deserved award!”
Paiva has been with the district for five years and has been teaching for seven.
In addition to her teaching duties, Paiva is involved in several extra-curricular activities including academic support for students, an anti-racism work group and coaching Girls on the Run.
