Protesters gather in Providence to end Police brutality
By Stephanie Vargas
A group called Black Lives Matter is protesting in Providence to get their voices heard against Police brutality.
Community Activist John Prince says “I don’t think violence is the answer but I think it has come to the point that we need to sit down at the table before it gets to that point. It’s just anger. How many times does a person of color have to be killed by Police?”
Prince will protest along with hundreds of others at 3:00 pm on May 2, marching from Classical High School to the Dare Headquarters.
Prince says the rally will be peaceful and is to demand the immediate release of all jailed protesters in Baltimore. “We are making a stand that we are fed up, fed up with the Criminal Justice System.”
Earlier this month, Prince had a bad run with Providence Police. They deleted a video he recorded of them on his cell phone arresting a woman outside of his home.
Those Officers are being investigated.
