PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Board of Licenses voted to continue discussions on both Saje Kitchen and Club Desire to its next meeting.

The board ordered a 72-hour emergency closure at Club Desire after a stabbing incident on Saturday.

Police were called to the club at Franklin Square for a reported disturbance. Officers said someone was stabbed and was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

William Ingram-Hughes, 33, was arrested after the incident. He faces a disorderly conduct charge.

The board was initially going to address the incident on Monday, but the meeting was cancelled.

Also on the agenda Wednesday was Saje Kitchen, for an ongoing discussion.

Providence police responded to the Atwells Avenue restaurant twice in one weekend; once in regard to multiple license violations that had not been fixed from previous citations, and for a disturbance where an officer was reportedly punched and bitten.

The board prohibited use of the second floor, and said one of the managers was not allowed on the property.
