Providence Bruins Announce 2014-2015 Regular Season Schedule

Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins will open their 23rd season of action at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on Friday, Oct. 10 against St. John’s, according to the 76-game 2014-15 American Hockey League Schedule (AHL), which was announced today.
The P-Bruins’ get the season underway with “Opening Night in Providence” presented by Washington Trust at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center beginning at 7:05 p.m., ET against the St. John’s Ice Caps on Friday, October 10.
The P-Bruins’ 38-home game schedule features all weekend dates, including 19 Friday night games, 17 Sunday afternoon contests and two Saturday night showdowns. All Friday and Saturday games will be played at 7:05 p.m., while all Sunday contests are slated for a 3:05 p.m. puck drop.
Highlights from the schedule include matchups with Manchester, Worcester and Portland 12 times each (6 home/6 away), Springfield eight times (4 home/4 away) and St. John’s in four contests (2 home/2 away). The only Eastern Conference teams the P-Bruins will not face in the regular season is Syracuse and Binghampton. Other matchups include playing Bridgeport six times, as well as Hartford and Norfolk four times each. Providence will also play a pair of games against Albany, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Hershey and Lehigh Valley.
Providence will see the most ice time in November, with 14 contests scheduled. The club will play a season high eight home games in January, while hitting the road a high of eight times in February.
The P-Bruins’ longest home stand is four games, which spans from March 4-13. The longest road stretch of the year is five games, which happens twice, once from Feb. 20-28 and again beginning March 27 through April 4.
The Providence Bruins will also host the Boston Bruins Black & Gold Scrimmage, an intrasquad event at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on Sunday, Sept. 21 featuring players from Boston and Providence. The P-Bruins Preseason Game & Fanfest, featuring fan interactive activities and a P-Bruins preseason game, is scheduled for Friday, October 3. Lastly, the annual Pink in the Rink night, in support of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, will take place on Friday, October 24.
