Providence caregiver accused of fraud against senior client

LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Little Compton police said Wednesday that a caregiver is being accused of taking advantage of a senior client.
Police said an investigation started when they received a report from a caregiver that possible fraud is being against her in-home client.
A second caregiver with the same in-home health care service was accused of falsely taking money from a senior client.
The second certified caregiver is Providence woman Jahlena Ann Giron.
Investigators discovered that the 33-year-old woman took her client to a bank in Westport. She then withdrew hundreds of dollars using the clients PIN number.
In a second instance, police said Giron cashed a check in the clients name for $3,500 at a bank in Cranston.
She then tried to cash a check for a third time for $4,800 but was flagged. Investigators said that Giron forged the clients signature.
A third check was taken but was never cashed.
Giron is facing larceny, exploitation of an elder, and forgery charges.
She will be arraigned in District Court.
