Providence celebrates Cedric Huntley on his birthday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The city of Providence celebrated a beloved leader and member of the community on what would have been his 66th birthday.
Former executive of the Nonviolence Institute, Cedric Huntley died back on July 10.
“At times he was a mentor, a father figure, an uncle, a big brother. He was a confidant, he was an advisor, someone that you would go to if you needed anything,” now ED of the Nonviolence Institute Lisa Pina-Warren told ABC6.
Yesterday, the Dynamic New Force Steppin’ Drill Team, Grupo Ondas, the Huntley Family, and Southside Recreation Center celebrated his birthday as Mayor Brett Smiley dedicated the day as “”Mr. Ced Day.”
“Cedric Huntly’s legacy of kindness, leadership, and dedication will continue to inspire us all. We will keep building the future he envisioned-a community where every young person has the chance to thrive,” said Smiley in a X post.
