Providence City Council elects new Majority Leader and Majority Whip

Providence, RI- The Providence City Council met at 5 pm on Thursday to elect a new Majority Leader and new Majority Whip.
Bryan Principe was elected Majority Leader and Jo-Ann Ryan was elected as Majority Whip.
Principe, who represents Ward 13, replaces Kevin Jackson who resigned his leadership post on the council following his arrest on embezzlement charges. Jackson remains a member of the council.
The vote to elect both Principe and Ryan was unanimous.
